Kelly Coburn Curtis Born En Caul in Princeton New Jersey. Daughter of ex-NFL athlete and former Athletic Director of Princeton High School John Curtis. Daughter of Debrah Curtis, a long lineage of explorers and pioneers. Kelly is the youngest of 4 siblings. Kelly was influenced by father and older brothers to pursue sport. Early on she joined co-ed wrestling and sent boys to the hospital. She captained the basketball, track and field teams at Princeton High School. She continued her high school sports career at the Lawrenceville School breaking multiple track records earning herself an athletic scholarship to Tulane University. Transferred to the 2011 Penn Relays Heptathlon Champion while at Springfield (Massachusetts) College. She continued her career in athletics by entering a graduate assistant position for education and coached track and field at St. Lawrence University. Curtis was introduced to bobsled and skeleton by strength and conditioning coach Dr. Daniel Jaffe

Curtis earned the spot on Team USA with a career-best sixth-place finish in St. Moritz, Switzerland.

The first civilian recruited for the U.S. Air Force World Class Athlete Program, Curtis graduated from basic training on Aug. 27, 2020. She is pursuing a career in cybersecurity/knowledge management.
